From the Depths oF time

Experts believe that the oldest fabrics in human history were created up to 500,000 years
ago. Offering warmth as well as decoration, that first textile is believed to have been felt –
produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibers together. From blankets to yurts and
shoes to clothing, the ingenuity of our ancestors meant that textiles helped protect, keep
warm and decorate. In fact, the earliest dyed fibers have been found in Georgia and date
back to 36,000 BC, so we can surmise that those prehistoric people even cared about how
                      the fabric looked.
